Don’t Miss The Swiss!

watchesOur Spring Clearance sale is sadly at an end, but if you are still shopping for watches, never fear! We have started a brand new promotion today on many of our brand-name watches made in Switzerland, the birthplace of designer, intricately crafted timepieces.

But Switzerland has other claims to fame, too, and some of them are either pretty neat or vaguely hilarious.

  • The portable personal cassette player with headphones (“Walkman”) was first tested in the woods of St. Moritz, Switzerland, in 1972.
  • Thumbs Up has a whole other meaning in Switzerland, where it also signifies the number 1.  By the way, the number 1 is often written like a 7 in the US and a 7 is written with a horizontal cross.
  • Latin is the third most used language. It is not actually spoken, but appears on the stamps and coins as “confoederatio helvetica” or “helvetia”. This is the Latin name of Switzerland. This is why the international abbreviation for Switzerland is CH.

Of course, watches are still a very important export from the country with more banks than dentists. This elegant women’s Concerto watch from Movado features a contemporary look that’s sure to complement your attire, with smooth mother of pearl dial, quartz movement (Swiss, of course), and stainless steel strap. Let’s Hear It For The Savings On Women’s Watches

watchesWe are in the final days of our spring clearance sale here at The Watchery, and the hundreds and thousands of dollars you can save on men and women’s watches will not last too much longer. But you can still treat yourself or your better half to a girl’s best friend: a diamond-bezeled watch from Bedat & Co., which specializes in feminine luxury timepieces.

Simone Bédat decided to create her own brand with her son, Christian, in 1996. Their first collection of timepieces was presented in 1997 during BaselWorld. In 2000, Gucci Group acquired 85% of Bedat & Co, and begun to spread worldwide. In 2008, the Swiss watch brand launched its very first stand alone boutique in Kuala Lumpur, the opening of which was officiated by the Queen of Malaysia, Her Majesty Sultanah Nur Zahirah. In 2009, a company based in Malaysia, LuxuryConcepts SA, announced their acquisition of Bedat & Co. However, the brand remains a 100% Swiss company with global distribution.

Dress your wrist as elegant as your wardrobe with this Bedat & Co. timepiece. Its classy design adds an understated look to all your outfits. Every Bedat & Co. Women’s No.1 watch with white diamond (0.44 ctw) bezel, white textured sunburst dial and black textured satin strap is brand new, never worn, with original factory parts and 100% authentic guaranteed.
