Dazzle Mom With Diamonds

Diamond watches have set the standards of luxury timepieces for decades. Sparkling diamonds have adorned the bezels, dials and bracelets of fine timepieces since the early 20th Century when watchmakers Ebel and Lucien Piccard used diamonds and gemstones on their watch designs.

For a long duration of time, diamond timepieces were considered dress watches and were worn exclusively with evening attire for formal occasions. As styles and fashions changed in the late quarter of the 20th century, so did the use of diamond watches.

Luxury watchmakers Rolex, Ebel, Omega, TAG Heuer, Movado and Chopard started to use diamonds with their sporty models. And new brands TechnoMarine and Michele made their debut with casually elegant chronographs for women, featuring shimmering diamond bezels and dials.

BEDAT-778.057.109Diamond watches today are ideal for every occasion from deep-sea diving adventures to evenings out on the town. You’ll find a wide array of popular diamond timepieces at prominent online retailer The Watchery, during their Mother’s Day Diamond Watch Event.

Exquisite Ebel Contours

Premium Swiss watchmaker Ebel is a name synonymous with elegance, luxury and design since its founding in 1911. The brand was started by a husband and wife team, Eugene Blum and Alice Levy in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

Ebel’s name comes from the initials of its founders: Eugene Blum et (and) Levy, who pioneered many milestones, including their strap wrist watch in 1912 and their diamond jewelry watch ring in 1914.

During World War II from 1939 to 1945, Ebel supplied watches to the British Royal Air Force to assist pilots in their air missions throughout Europe.

In 1970 the founder’s grandson Pierre Alain Blum took over the helm of the company, leading it to become the world-class watchmaker it is today. Under Blum’s direction in 1977, Ebel introduced the Sport Classic Collection for men and women featuring a rounded, hexagonal shaped case and distinctive wave length bracelet.EBEL-9003N18-991050

The Sport Classic became an instant success and remains one of the most popular luxury watches for men and women today. In 1985, Ebel followed the Sport Classic with the Beluga collection, a lustrous and graceful collection of timepieces created expressly for women. With fluid, flowing contours and highly polished lines the Beluga was another international success.

The Beluga became even more popular in 1999, when singer and entertainer Madonna wore one in print ads for Ebel, featuring just her henna-tattooed hand wearing a Beluga diamond model.

Both the Sport Classic and Beluga collections remain popular today along with more recent introductions from Ebel, including the 1911, Tarawa and Brasilia series. All of these Ebel timepieces are available at prominent online retailer The Watchery.

The Ebel Beluga diamond watch is pure enchantment… and with Mother’s Day just around the corner, it is an excellent choice for Mom. This glamorous timepiece features a contoured stainless steel case and distinctive steel link bracelet polished to a glowing patina.

Forty-six shimmering, round-cut diamonds are prong-set to perfection on the bezel. Luminous Mother-of Pearl dial shines with polished silver tone hands and twelve diamond hour markers.

Features include premium Swiss-made quartz movement and water-resistance to 50 meters or 165 feet.

Gucci: The First Name In Italian Fashion

The name Gucci is synonymous with premier Italian fashion. The brand is easily one of the most recognizable fashion brands in the world today.

Like other Italian fashion icons: Fendi and Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci started out as a leather goods shop. Its founder Guccio Gucci opened a store in Florence Italy, creating handbags, small luggage and shoes in 1920. Gucci soon expanded operations to other cities in Italy. By 1950, Gucci had a shop in New York city and soon became an International status symbol not only for their leather goods, but apparel and accessories too.

The brand’s growth continued through the 1970s with the introduction of wristwatches and fragrances. Things changed for Gucci during the late 1980s with tax scandals and a murder in the family, which not only tarnished the brands’ image but put the company on the edge of bankruptcy.YA101507(L)

In 1990 designer Tom Ford was hired as a ready-to-wear designer. Four years later Ford was promoted to creative director for the fashion house. Ford’s vision and creativity single-handedly turned Gucci around, making it the premier Italian fashion house in the late 1990s.  Although Ford left Gucci in 2004, the brand remains relevant and popular today.

Gucci timepieces are among the most-sought after wristwatches in the world. The brand’s emblematic style is carried out in many of their wrist fashions…from the signature G-logo on the bezels to the patterned Gucci crest on the dials and bracelets.

You’ll find an  exciting selection of Gucci timepeices for men and women at luxury retailer The Watchery.

Nothing says glamour more than the Gucci Women’s 101 Diamond Wristwatch. This captivating timepiece features a graceful stainless steel case presented on an attractive pink satin facing strap with leather backing.

Premium Swiss-made quartz movement inside assures you of time-keeping accuracy. Timepiece is 28mm in diameter, 8mm thick and is water-resistant to 30 meters or 100 feet.

The Master of The Game: Philip Stein

The 2014 Golf Championship season officially kicked off yesterday with the start of the Master’s Tournament in Augusta, GA. While the outcome of the tournament is anyone’s guess, one thing is for certain golf legend Tiger Woods will not be winning his fifth Master’s trophy this year, since he withdrew from the competition in early April, due to undergoing surgery for a pinched nerve in his back.

This will also be the first time since 1995 that Woods has not participated in the tournament. Speculation is that golf pro Ryan Moore could clinch the tournament this year. Others feel golf veteran Phil Mickelson, who won the British open last year, could emerge victorious.23BNBORB

Timing is everything in the game of golf as Woods, Mickelson, Moore and other players in the game would agree. In addition, wearing the appropriate sports watch when playing the game is equally important. Pro golfers in the league of Woods and Mickelson require an extremely lightweight men’s watch that will not be too cumbersome on their wrist and will also not interfere with their game.

Philip Stein watches are ideal for golfers with their slim, slender design and lightweight characteristics not to mention their ability to relieve stress. Many Philip Stein watches feature natural frequency technology that promotes better sleep, increased energy and a new sense of calm.  This special mechanism is designed to produce an electromagnetic field that pulses against your wrist and mimics signals sent by the brain, when you’re in a state of calm or engaged in athletic activity.

You’ll find a wide array of comfortable and lightweight Philip Stein wristwatches for men and women at luxury online retailer The Watchery.

The Philip Stein Classic Men’s Chronograph is the perfect watch for golf.  This slim, lightweight men’s timepiece has a black ion-plated stainless steel case and black rubber strap, that comfortable fits on the wrist and will not interfere with your golf strokes.
