TAG Heuer Reinterpretations Of Time

TAG Heuer is hands down one of the most popular Swiss watch brands in the world today. With a rich legacy in time-keeping excellence since 1860 and some of the most prestigious automatic and mechanical timepieces produced in the past century, including the Carrera, Monza and Monte Carlo timepieces, TAG Heuer stands high above  the rest.

It also doesn’t hurt that prominent film and sports stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Uma Thurman, Cameron Diaz, Tiger Woods, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jeff Gordon and Maria Sharapova serve as international ambassadors for the brand.

Reinterpreting existing popular watch collections is another aspect of the brand’s long-time popularity. Three of TAG Heuer’s most popular watch series today: the Aquaracer, Link Series and Formula One are reimagined versions of earlier series.

TAG-WAK2111.BA0830The Aquaracer is a bold,
vigorous update of the classic 2000 Series watch collection originally released in 1983. Both the unidirectional rotating bezel and triple link bracelet of the two collections are almost identical. New features include larger size cases as well as higher levels of water resistance. Each of the Aquaracer watches feature water resistance to 300 meters or more.

The Link Series introduced in 1998 is an updated version of the classic S/EL Series, originally released in 1987. The new series features more generously proportioned bracelet links and cases, as well as genuine 18K gold in the construction instead of 18K gold plate.

Meanwhile in 2000 TAG Heuer introduced the new Formula 1 Series with larger oversized stainless steel cases and titanium bezels, replacing the fiberglass material used on the classic models which originally debuted in 1987.

You’ll find many  popular TAG Heuer timepieces at luxury retailer The Watchery during their week-long TAG Heuer Back In Stock event including the Aquaracer automatic men’s watch. This high-performance timepiece features a premium-grade stainless steel case presented on attractive triple link bracelet in brushed and polished steel.

The signature unidirectional rotating bezel with a blue enamel top ring surrounds the matching blue dial with luminous sword hands and baton hour markers. A window at the 3 o’clock hour reveals the automatic date calendar. A screw-down crown and case back provide water-resistance to 500 meters.

Watch is 42mm in diameter, 13mm thick and features premium Swiss-made automatic movement inside.

Complementary delivery is included on all domestic watch purchases at The Watchery.

The Heat Is On!

Summer dressing for both men and women is all about comfort and color. With thermostats hitting the 80s and 90s in most parts of the nation this month, cool lightweight fabrics such as linen and cotton are in vogue. Sandals and canvas shoes are a popular choice and bright colors are featured in many fashion designers’ spring and summer ready-to-wear collections.

Color blocked and floral print tops are popular for both men and women this summer. Orange and orchid are the hot colors for women this season, while blue in shades of cobalt to royal and navy are the top hues for men.

CHOPARD-168511-3018RWHThe perennial summer shades of white, ivory and cream are very popular once again this season in monochromatic looks, using different textures: Pair your white linen pants with a matching colored cotton shirt and a matching colored silk blazer.

Whether you’re planning to dress monochromatic white this summer or in bold fashion shades, you’ll certainly want a timepiece to coordinate with your outfit. You’ll find a wide variety of popular fashion watches at luxury retailer The Watchery, during their Summer Designer Event.

The Chopard Mille Miglia men’s chronograph in white is the ideal timepiece for a monochromatic dressing or any cool summer wardrobe choic. This Swiss-made automatic timepiece features a polished stainless steel case and striking white rubber strap with embossed tire-tread detail.

2014 US Open: It’s Anyone’s Game

The 2014 Golf Season is in full swing this weekend as the final rounds of the US Open take place at the Pinehurst #2 Golf Course in Pinehurst NC. The open is the second of the four major golf tournaments held annually and traditionally concludes on the third Sunday in June.

Unlike other major golf tournaments the US Open is held on a different course each year. Last year’s open was held at the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, PA, where English golfer Justin Rose defeated American players Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els.

Mickelson could clinch the top prize on Sunday to win his first US Open, while German golfer Martin Kaymer, American player Fran Quinn and Korean player Kevin Na also have a very good chance of taking the title.TAG-WAK2180.FT6027

Although golf legend Tiger Woods is not participating in the tournament, due to recuperating from back surgery, his name appears in many news reports regarding the event as another tournament he will not be playing in this year.

Timing is everything on and off golf course for players such as Mickelson, Els and Woods, all who serve as brand ambassadors for luxury watch brands Rolex, Omega and TAG Heuer respectively. Wearing a lightweight watch is vital when playing the game, since a bulky, weighty model could interfere with their swing and the outcome of the game.

Professional golfers in the league of Woods, Mickelson and Els prefer wristwatches with silicone straps that comfortably fit on the wrist and do not interfere with motion. The TAG Heuer Autoracer Men’s watch, available at luxury retailer The Watchery, is an excellent choice.

This outstanding men’s automatic watch features a comfortably-sized, black ion-plated stainless steel case and black silicone strap. The black unidirectional rotating bezel surrounds the  black dial with an automatic date calendar, luminous hands and hour markers.

Watch is 42mm in diameter, 12mm thick and features Swiss-made automatic movement, a locking screw-down crown and case back for water-resistance to 500 meters.

Complementary delivery is included on all domestic watch purchases at The Watchery.

Frederique Constant’s affordable luxury is one of the keys to their success. Another is that each and every aspect of the watches they manufacturer …from their initial design to final assembly is produced at their watch plant in Plan-Les-Ouates, Switzerland.FC-303NM4P5

What’s more, all of the brand’s precision automatic and mechanical movements are created at their Swiss watch facility. In 2001, Frederique Constant introduced its first timepiece caliber, the Heart Beat, which went on to win awards for its precision and time-keeping accuracy.

Frederique Constant is also renowned for its innovative watch designs, including the World Timer wristwatch, which automatically synchronizes the time for 24 international cities by placing the desired location at the 12 o’clock hour on the dial.

You’ll find many prestigious Frederique Constant wristwatches for men and women at luxury retailer The Watchery, during their Frederique Constant: Timed To Perfection event.

The Frederique Constant Persuasion Heart Beat men’s timepiece is a standout. This outstanding automatic watch features the award-wining Heart Beat movement the brand is famous for.

The classic traditional styling gets noticed with a perfectly round case in polished yellow gold  plate and an alligator textured leather strap. The highly polished bezel encircles the intricate silver colored dial with a guilloche center, gold tone hands and Roman numeral hour markers. A window at the 6 o’clock hour reveals the automatic date calendar.

An exhibition case back reveals the intricate movement inside. Automatic timepiece is 40mm in diameter, 10mm thick and is water-resistant to 50 meters.

Complementary delivery is included on all domestic watch purchases at The Watchery.

Back From Basel

With the Baselworld 2014 Watch show coming to a close last week, we can now reflect on some of the highlights that took place during the annual eight-day event. Over 150,000 individuals in the watch industry, buyers and media from around the world attended the watch fair in Basel Switzerland, where more than 1,500 exhibitors showcased their latest timepiece collections and innovations.

The who’s, who of popular luxury watchmakers from TAG Heuer, Omega, Chopard, Rolex, Raymond Weil, Hublot, IWC , Bell & Ross and Invicta to Seiko and Casio premiered their new collections during the show.

TAG Heuer introduced the new Monaco V4 Tourbillon automatic timepiece, the first tourbillon watch operated by belts. The highly modern interpretation of the 1970’s classic features a skeleton dial and caseback. The true beauty of the timepiece is the usage of belts instead of gears that drive the automatic movement inside.INVICTA-14627

Omega pays tribute to the 45 Anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon with its Limited Edition Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. The manual winding chronograph features a titanium case, comfortable fabric strap and a distinctive laser-cut dial.

Casio made headlines at Basel with their new
G-Shock timepiece featuring GPS technology.  The new watch is designed to synchronize with smart phones and GPS devices. It also has

We’re constantly updating our wardrobe with the latest apparel to stay up-to-date.  Men’s fashion is always shifting and evolving, whether it’s the width of a tie or shirt collar, jacket lapel or the legs on a pair of trousers.

Fortunately many time-honored Swiss timepieces from prestigious watchmakers Raymond Weil, Ebel, Baume & Mercier, IWC, Maurice Lacroix and Jean Richard have maintained their classic looks through the years and have changed very little in style, craftsmanship and quality.

Spring Escapes

April is almost here and winter’s fury is still played havoc through many parts of the nation. This past week, snow storms hit the northeast and New England and temperatures  were below 60 degrees in most states throughout the nation.

There is no better time than right now to plan a Spring Escape from the cold and travel to the tropics.  Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Playa Del Carmen and South Florida are among the most popular hot spots to travel to this spring.  Each not only offers warmer climates, but incredible beaches too.INVICTA-13683

While you’ll be able to take-in some much needed rays of sunshine,  you’ll also be able to partake in many outdoor water activities while you’re there, including snorkeling, scuba-diving, water-skiing and rafting.

Deep-sea adventures in the tropics call for water-resistant timepieces capable of withstanding more than just 30 or 100 meters of water. You’ll want a wristwatch water resistant to 200 meters or more.

The Invicta Corduba Automatic Chronograph for men is the ideal deep-sea timepiece. This high-performance diver’s watch is water resistant up to 1000 meters or 3300 feet.

Life In The Fast Lane

The NASCAR racing season officially kicks of this week in Daytona Beach, FL with the Daytona 500 Race taking place on Sunday, February 23.

Preliminary races have already began in Daytona. Driver Austin Dillon won the Pole Race this past Sunday with the famed Number 3 on his car, channeling the spirit of legendary racecar driver Dale Earnhardt, who raced to victory with seven NASCAR Winston Cup Championships in the Number 3 Car, until his untimely death in 2001.

Dillion is expected to participate in Sunday’s big race against other racing pros: Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer and Dancia Patrick.

While European racing competitions such as the Grand Prixe and LeMans may be more celebrated around the world, the Daytona race has been heralded by not one but two legendary Swiss watchmakers: Rolex and TAG Heuer.cav511a.ba0902

In 1963, Rolex introduced the Cosmograph Daytona, a new generation chronograph expressly designed for racecar drivers and named for the high-speed Florida speedway. The stationary tachymeter bezel used for calculating speed on the Rolex Daytona remains one of the signature elements of the collection featured on models being produced today.

In 1976 TAG Heuer introduced the Daytona Chronograph to appeal to the American racing watch market with a collection of automatic timepieces featuring innovative modern silhouettes with their most recent  automatic calibre movement inside.

While the TAG Heuer Daytona timepiece is no longer being produced, you can enjoy many of the aspects that made this timepiece unique with the TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Chronograph. This dynamic automatic men’s watch, available at internet retailer The Watchery, carries the distinction of being a certifed Chronometer by the COSC.

The premium grade stainless steel case is presented on a matching triple line bracelet. The stationary tachymeter bezel encircles the black dial with two subdials, luminous hands and hour markers.

Features include an automatic date calendar at the 6 o’clock hour, small-second and 60-minute registers. Chronograph is 43mm in diameter, 15mm thick and is water resistant to 100 meters or 330 feet.

Complimentary delivery is included on all domestic watch purchases at The Watchery.

A New Spin On Time: Perrelet Watches

Nothing compares to the visual dynamics of a Perrelet Turbine wristwatch on your hand. This double rotor timepiece features a multi-blade upper dial that spins in time with the motion of the wrist from the patented automatic movement inside, creating a sometimes colorful and dramatic backdrop of optical effects.

The Perrelet brand itself reflects a rich heritage of precision Swiss craftsmanship and design. In 1770 Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Perrelet invented the first self-winding automatic timepiece, a pocket watch which was designed to operate when the user walked, using an oscillating weight that moved up and down. The self-winding mechanism was revolutionary, since watches prior to this:  mechanical timepieces always required manual winding.PERRELET-A4018-2

The Perrelet legacy continues today with precision-made automatic watches, innovative in both precision and design with their distinctive built-in rotor mechanisms.

At The Watchery, you’ll find a wide variety of popular Perrelet Turbine automatic watches for men in oversized, diver’s and sport styles.

You’re certain to have the winning hand with the Perrelet Turbine Poker automatic men’s wristwatch. The multi-blade upper dial operates above the stationary dial featuring poker print Hearts and Spade playing cards in red and black on a white background.

The lightweight, black finished titanium case with attractive fluted detail on the sides is presented on a high-performance black rubber strap. The crystal skeleton caseback lets you see the intricate mechanical automatic movement inside.

Features include 26-jewel automatic movement inside, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and water resistance to 165 feet. Watch is 44mm in diameter and 13mm thick.

Complimentary domestic shipping is included on all watch purchases at The Watchery.
