Concord Watches, Thin, Elegant, Innovative

Do Buddhists Need to Wear Watches?

IWCAlthough I don’t consider myself a Buddhist, I know quite a lot about their philosophy and their beliefs about time. Time is somewhat important to the nature of existence. Or rather, it’s more like the lack of time itself that is at the core. Buddhists don’t view time in the way that other cultures and religions do. They believe only in the here and now. There is no past, there is no future. You are living moment to moment. This is known as the nature of impermanence. It states that everything is in a constant state of flux, of motion. This flows nicely into the belief of rebirth. And therefore, not even death itself is real. There is no beginning and there is no end.

So if you’re constantly living in the moment do you really need an IWC watch? Despite philosophical beliefs, I do think even the most devout follower would still own a watch. How else would you know what time to meet your friend for afternoon tea?! You can still live moment to moment, but at least you won’t be late for work or miss dinner with your wife. Time is just a way to make life easier and you might as well do it in style with a Concord watch!

Technology Will Never Replace a Concord Watch

IWCMy generation seems to forgotten just how wonderful it is to wear a watch. Instead, they look to their cellphones or iPads for the time. And let’s not forget that sometimes, technology breaks. On that day, I’ll certainly have the last laugh because I can look to my watch for the time and you’ll look to a barren wrist.

Concord Watches: The Saratoga Collection

concordConcord, a Luxury brand of Movado, has had several strong collections in the 2000s. One of its most popular ran until 2007. This was the Saratoga sports luxury watch. The Saratoga watch featured a face with bright bold numerals.

Stylistically it’s unique. The emphasis, unlike on most watches, were the 12, 4, and 8 as opposed to the 12, 3, 6, and 9. However luxurious the watch is it takes comfort into consideration. The wristband is made out of rubber so it won’t scratch you when you’re active.

The Saratoga Collection has several different models too, all of which are driven by looks and comfort. The Automatic, for example, has a slightly more interesting face detail, connecting the second chronographs by silver paneling.The New Saratoga has a slightly more monochromatic color scheme but ultimately looks like the original.

The Women’s models of this line are called La Scala. They have similar designs to the Saratoga with crystal embellishments on the face plates. They’re a bit smaller in scale, too, so they have a feminine edge.

Concord Watches and Their History
